Viva Las Vegas

After a few days of rest we flew to Las Vegas for an eventful few days at DEMA.  As always it was… insane.  It’s almost as though they manage each year to construct a small city dedicated to all-things-scuba-diving.  My first DEMA was in Orlando last year, which was a pale shadow of this year’s DEMA in Vegas.  At least ten times the size, anyone and everyone even remotely associated with the dive industry was present.  It was so great to say hi to all of our sponsors and hosts who we don’t often get to see, catch up with old friends, make heaps of new friends, and of course throw back a few cold ones with the scholarship family members who came!  We even had a chance to share some of our year with everyone during the OWUSS reception.  Ever-hungry, Will and I also completed our DAN Dive Medicine For Divers 3-part instructor course during DEMA.

I think the mood at DEMA can be summed up in a photo:
