Diving Chowder Bay with Jayne Jenkins

The end of November brought a lot of firsts for me. First time in Australia, first time seeing a frog fish (or angler fish), first time diving in a place that has shark nets (although apparently these are a “load of bollocks” and aren’t all that effective) and first time learning about the vicious drop bears that roam western Australia. Jayne Jenkins, the Australasian coordinator for OWUSS, invited me out to dive with great white sharks in South Australia with Rodney Fox and his crew. Rodney Fox was celebrating 50 years since he was attacked by a great white that altered the trajectory of his life path. But before we headed down to South Australia, we spent a little bit of time in Sydney, diving and seeing some of the sights (as well as getting to hang out with two of the coolest dogs, Barney and Maisie).

Huge thanks to Jayne and Colin for hosting me and showing me such a good time. Here’s a video showing a few of the awesome animals we saw after a couple days of diving Chowder Bay.
